Which place is best to live in Australia?

Australia is definitely too big! There are so many places to see, cultures to discover ...
Which city would you recommend to other people? Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth (or others)?
Is it easy to integrate the Aussie way of life?
Given that I never went anywhere else... I say Melbourne.
Good for me because the weather is not too hot (but winter was quite warm compared to UK). Friendly people. High proportion of Asia culture (mainly Chinese and Vietnamese.... but a good amount of Japanese), so easy-ish to cook up Japanese food when I fancy a break from the Greek, Italian, and "Aussie" food.
Mind you, didn't get time to explore other areas, so I can't really make a informed choice ( work using up too much time!).

Hi there, I lived in Sydney a couple of years ago, so here's what I know.. any native Australians please correct me if I am wrong. Mostly I know areas by their restaurants, there are so many cuisines and it is relatively cheap to eat out you may find yourself doing that a lot. Surry hills esp Crown St has the highest concentration of great restaurants..Bills, Billy Kwong, Prasits, RQ, Red Lantern, Tabou.. the list goes on. Darlinghurst is also great for food, Onde, Sel et Poivre, Bills.. Newtown is more grungy but has great eating options Thai, Vietnamese lots of cafe and bars.. Leichardt is known for its italian restaurants. In terms of food shopping I kow that paddington has smaller fruit and veg shop, a butcher, fishmonger and french bread shop.. Mostly though there a big supermarkets.. there are regular farmers markets but I don't know where they are. A useful blog that I ahve recenlty discovered is grab your fork which might be of use to you.. enjoy!

It is very good topic to discuss which place is best to live in Australia. There are lots of good city in Australia Broken Hill, Sydney, Queanbeyan, Wagga Wagga, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth but According to me i think Melbourne is the best and good developed city all over in australia. Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, is the second largest city in Australia. The city is divided into two parts by the Yarra River, creating predominantly working class areas in the North and West regions, and more affluent areas in the South and the East.

When I want to go Australia and I have to choose city for live than I am always select a parth. because its a one of the big city in Australia. And its one of the most popular city in Australia .there is number of big motels , showrooms are available in this city. also included the top university in the worlds. there is number of natural places are available in the parth. Its one of the coolest area of the Australia.

Windermere in Tasmania is the best place to live in Australia. It is 20 kms from Launceston which is a major city of 60,000 ++ people so it has all major shopping and entertainment needs

Leichardt is great live place in Australia , it is the historic center of the Italian community and has a good butcher, greengrocer, coffee shops. I have really got to go and check it out now that I am old enough to actually remember the place.

I just returned from Australia not too long ago. While Sydney was beautiful, I thought Melbourne was the most liveable city in Australia. However I do not recommend Melbourne if you are going to be there in winter.

I suggest to you Sydney is best place for living in Australia, Great city. And also Capital of Australia, Great develop city and best for shopping, best weather and also great for night life as well. Melbourne also nice city and great place. But first I prefer to Sydney.
