Employer sponsorship applications

Hello,

I wonder if anyone here can help... my partner has been talking to a company in Australia and they want to offer him a job on a 457 visa, but they need to apply to become a sponsor.
I've looked through the immi.gov.au site and the only timelines I can see are for the final stage - 4-8 weeks to grant the 457 visa for the employee.

Does anyone here know how long it should take for the company's initial application to become a sponsor to be processed?

I appreciate any information you can provide. I'm not the most patient of people and the not knowing is driving me crazy. Basically without an employer sponsorship, we can't move
