Issue with my External HDD

I am using 'Transcend Portable Hard Disk 160 GB'..My problem is that "My dvd player fails to recognise external hard disk"..is there any drivers related problem or related to the External HDD of mine??Please suggest me the proper way for this.

When you start computer then press F7 more than three times and it shows different option settings. Select settings of DVD, instead of mouse cursor use up and down arrow from keyboard. Enable the options of external hard disk then ok, restart computer.
